A Fashion Disaster in The Making

In a world driven by fashion-conscious consumers, the hidden environmental costs of clothing often escape notice. Despite textiles earning the dubious distinction of being the world’s second-largest pollutant, most remain blissfully unaware of what makes up their attire. Enter Liva, the eco-friendly fabric from the Aditya Birla Group (ABG), envisioning a world where fashion not only makes a statement but carries a profound message of sustainability. Our journey alongside ABG aimed to creatively convey this message to a receptive audience.

A Mirror’s Tale of Transforming Challenges

Partnering with the esteemed Times Lit Fest presented a golden opportunity to reach the right audience. However, a challenge loomed: how to impress upon people that fashion choices carry a responsibility beyond aesthetics? The solution was found in an unexpected place—the mirror. A fixture in the lives of fashion enthusiasts, it became our canvas for transformation.

Mirror, Mirror on the Wall — Who’s the Most Sustainable of Them All?

We didn’t just create a mirror; we birthed a messenger—a messenger that was as smart as it was responsible. Powered by Raspberry Pi and armed with voice and facial recognition capabilities, this mirror had a mission—to revolutionize how we view fashion. As visitors gazed into the mirror, it did more than reveal their attire; it revealed a new perspective about the environmental impact of their fashion choices. The visitors were urged to make “responsible fashion” their New Year’s resolution. And as a delightful bonus, it offered custom portraits, capturing the essence of their newfound commitment.

The Smart Mirror with More Revelation than Reflection

The mirror transcended reflection; it became a revelation. Visitors were captivated by its unique interactive messages, turning it into the festival’s star attraction. Enthusiasts from literature to lifestyle were drawn to the magic of the #ResponsibleSmartMirror. Word-of-mouth and social media buzz ignited, drawing over 2000 daily visitors and sparking real-time dialogues.

The #ResponsibleSmartMirror succeeded in doing what words alone couldn’t – it illuminated the path to a more sustainable fashion future with the perfect blend of great insight, perfect technology and powerful message.
